English:
As they watch the duck quietly swimming on the water, the young man asks the girl to consider what it will mean to be with him. “ Do you weave and do you spin? , he asks and do you know how to reap rye on the hill?”
She answers: Don’t ask me how well I work, but ask me if I will go with you”.
He answers; I am neither a drinker nor a ne'er-do well. I am my father’s son, a plougher of the land.
I know how to work the land, how to harvest the rye, and I know how to hold a girl close to my heart.
